About the Royal Palace
The Royal Palace of Madrid is the accredited residence of the Spanish monarchy and one of the largest and most spectacular palaces in Europe. Built in the 18th century by order of Philip V on the former Alcazar of Madrid, the building stands out for its imposing baroque and neoclassical architecture .
